I am Fran Leeper Buss, a PhD oral historian and the author/editor of seven books dealing with women and justice issues. A political activist since 1971, I continue to search for the roots of oppression. I worked with and wrote about a Latina organizer from the United Farm Workers. For twenty years I researched the story of Mary Robinson, a civil rights and textile union organizer. I assisted an elderly midwife in New Mexico. I have lived in Tucson, AZ for the last twenty-five years and participate in border politics. I interviewed over 100 poor and working-class women from around the country and attempt to reflect my experiences as I search new resources for understanding the deeper issues of contemporary politics. I hope you will join me on this undertaking. You will find more information about me at franleeperbuss.com.
